When the author Sharon was teaching in Thailand and America, most of her students were very curious about China and Chinese culture.
However, after having many conversations, she realized that most of them only had a surface level understanding of what it is and, at times, had simplified its beautiful and complex culture down to “ni hao” and “dim sum.”
After 10 years as an educator in both K-12 and university classrooms, in order to support her students to better understand the Chinese culture, she wanted to start a children’s book series to introduce and expand their knowledge about China and its culture along with intricate illustrations.
This book is designed to support young readers to learn about China and its modern culture. With easy pinyin and its Mandarin characters noted on each page, readers will be able to count 1 to 15 in Mandarin and learn some fun Chinese vocabulary words while reading.
For those who are interested in traveling to China or simply, exploring new things, this book was curated with curiosity, adventure, and exploration of the Chinese language, culture, cuisine, and much more!
